MARGATE PRIDE

artwork for the 2019 pride event

Margate Pride is one of the few grass roots Pride celebrations in the UK. Completely community organised by a network of local members of the LGBTQ community and their allies. The artwork concept came from exactly that, the community and Margate Pride’s already established pastel version of the Pride rainbow flag. Margate pride has grown from a small local celebration to a full regional event with over a thousand people taking part in the parade. Being in one of the UK’s original seaside resorts and smack next to ‘Dreamland’, the Uk’s heritage amusement park, it’s a full on day of Celebration, Fun and total and utter Pride.
